Training

Education provides the knowledge and skills necessary for individuals to make informed decisions, pursue opportunities, and actively participate in their communities.

Train. Empower. Transform.

Our training programs prepare educators, community leaders, and parents to deliver culturally responsive, strength-based education that uplifts Black youth and families.

Culturally Responsive Training That Builds Capacity

The Strengths of the Black Family (SBF) is for Black parents looking for information, and an understanding of positive cultural parenting skills and strategies to use with their families. SBF uses a cultural framework, and includes theories, perspectives and research from Black scholars, that are current and relevant for today’s Black families.

We provide two primary training tracks

Both programs emphasize positive racial socialization, youth development, and culturally grounded education.
